Chiropractic Care

We provide chiropractic adjustments utilizing "state of the art" chiropractic techniques. Chiropractic adjustments help to mobilize segments in the spine that are not moving as freely as the segments around them. It keeps your spine moving and prevents degeneration and pain. Never in the history of chiropractic care have chiropractors been able to provide the level of help and expertise that is available today. Many of the newest chiropractic techniques are actually safer, more comfortable and more effective than ever before. As a chiropractor who cares about utilizing the most advanced chiropractic techniques, Dr. Paul and Devanni Pearson has years of training, expertise and experience in helping patients get pain relief for back pain, neck pain, headaches, ankle pain, knee pain, hip pain, shoulder pain, and other related conditions originating from the spine. Chiropractic care under a trained professional can even be used to prevent injuries and help you achieve total health or wellness.

Deep Tissue Release Techniques

Drs. Paul and Devanni Pearson have taken advanced coursework in soft tissue treatment. Most of the activities we do in life are repetitive stress injuries to the muscles in our body. This scar tissue can cause muscles not to work properly causing muscle and joint pain. At Pearson Chiropractic we have techniques that breakdown scar tissue and naturally your body repairs it with healthy tissue. Some of the techniques utilized by the clinic are Active Release Technique (A.R.T), Graston, and FAKTR.

What is Active Release Technique (ART)?

- ART is a patented, state of the art soft tissue system/movement based massage technique that treats problems with muscles, tendons, ligaments, fascia and nerves. Headaches, back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, shin splints, shoulder pain, sciatica, plantar fasciitis, knee problems, and tennis elbow are just a few of the many conditions that can be resolved quickly and permanently with ART. These conditions all have one important thing in common: they are often a result of overused muscles.

Therapy Bay

Our Therapy Bay, where we provide several different types of therapies to enhance your chiropractic experience, is located in the center of our office. Our myotherapist, Hailee, is a Licensed Practical Nurse and a Certified Chiropractic Clinical Assistant. She has been directly trained by our doctors and massage therapist to perform and/or assist with all therapies that we offer.

Therapies that we offer at Pearson Chiropractic include the following:

Myotherapy

Myotherapy is "hands on" muscle work that is useful for treating skeletal muscle immobility and pain by relaxing contracted muscles, improving blood, oxygen, and lymphatic circulation, and stimulating the stretch reflex in muscles. Myotherapy is 10 minutes of muscle work completed before or after your adjustment.

Graston/FAKTR

This technique uses a "scraping" instrument to enable the treatment of scar tissue and fascial restrictions during rehabilitation. This allows for faster rehabilitation and with greater success when the goal is restoring range of motion, eliminating pain, and restoring normal function.

Decompression of the Lumbar and Cervical Spine

The decompression table works by gently stretching the spine, which changes the force and position of the spine. This change takes pressure off of the spinal discs.

Ultrasound Therapy

Therapeutic ultrasound is used to minimize muscle pain and movement dysfunction. This uses sound waves to deliver deep heat to the treated tissues.

E-Stim

E-Stim uses electrical pulses to mimic the action of signals coming from neurons (cells in your nervous system). These mild electrical currents target either muscles or nerves.

Corrective Exercises & Stretching

At Pearson Chiropractic, we teach our patients how to perform special "blueprint" exercises which can help strengthen and correct the irregularities in their body which may be causing pain. Many of these corrective exercises can actually be performed in the comfort of your own home to help improve the effectiveness of your chiropractic care and spinal correction plan. In addition to skeletal misalignment, you may be experiencing pain that is caused by muscles and connective tissues which are out of their proper place. Other types of pain such as back pain, neck pain, and headaches are caused by muscles and tissues that are being used improperly, causing injuries over time. In each case, targeted corrective exercises and stretches from our experienced chiropractor will help you feel good while also helping your body achieve balance and health.

Chirothin Weight Loss Program

The Doctor Supervised ChiroThin Weight Loss program is a comprehensive approach to both weight loss and weight management.

ChiroThin is not a fad diet! It is based on and developed around the 4 “gold standards” of weight loss: dietary and behavioral modification, nutritional supplementation, and exercise (when appropriate). With ChiroThin, there are no nasty meal replacement shakes or bars, no prescription drugs, no stimulants, and no surgery! You eat real food purchased from your local grocery store.

Acupuncture

The practice of acupuncture is the stimulation of certain acupuncture points on the human body for the purpose of controlling and regulating the flow and balance of energy in the body. The practice includes the techniques of piercing the skin by inserting needles and point stimulation by the use of acupressure, electrical, mechanical, thermal or traditional therapeutic means.

Chinese medicine views the human body as a complete organic entity that interconnects the external phenomenal world and the physical bodily structure through a series of natural laws. Chinese medicine focuses attention on the patient rather than on the disease, grouping together signs and symptoms of a disease and synthesizing them, until a clear picture appears that provides a diagnosis of the person as a whole.

A patient's illness is closely related to the emotional and mental aspects of a person. The Chinese doctor will diagnose and treat the individual taking into consideration the continuum line produced by the interactions of body, mind and spirit. Generally, in Western medicine a disease is diagnosed according to what is happening to the mechanical structure of the organs in relation to the disease process. In Chinese medicine, the internal ORGANS are actually the power of ORGAN FUNCTION, not the physical structure of the organ. Chinese and Oriental medicine emphasizes the performance and functions of the organic structures.

Lifestyle Advice

Many of our patients come to see our chiropractor to address a specific pain symptom such as back pain, neck pain or headaches. While our chiropractor will address each patient's specific condition with chiropractic care, we often find it helpful to "coach" our patients towards achieving a healthier lifestyle. For example, there may be certain activities that you should avoid or do differently to prevent yourself from unintentionally aggravating your particular health challenges. The goal of including lifestyle advice with a chiropractic care plan is to help each and every patient achieve the fulfilling and happy lifestyle they deserve, one that is full of the activities that are enjoyed most. We recognize that every single one of our patients is a whole person, and we use our expertise to help them reach total health and wellness.

Nutritional Counseling

What does nutrition have to do with chiropractic care? The goal of chiropractic care is to help patients achieve total health and balance with their body, and as part of that goal we provide specific recommendations on nutritional supplements and healthy food choices. Nutritional counseling by our experienced chiropractic health professionals can assist a patient on their return to optimal health. Do you know which supplements and vitamins are good for you? Do you know how these supplements and vitamins interact with one another? At our Minot chiropractic clinic, we can provide each patient with a nutritional advice based on their individual needs.

Spinal & Postural Screenings

There is a saying that an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure. Your spinal health is no exception. Posture and spinal screenings by a trained and experienced chiropractor such as Dr. Paul and Devanni Pearson can help reveal important health information, unlocking the door to improved health and well-being. In order to help the Minot community, we provide screenings at area malls, community events, health fairs and places of employment.
